Hello lovelies and welcome back to another month of the WOW Book Club! As you may well know by now, I’ve started a monthly book club in order to commit myself to reading more great books this year, as one of my New Year’s Resolutions. So far, so good! If you didn’t join us last month for Paris Letters, we’d still love to have you on board for this month’s read… “Girls who Travel”!

Girls who travel book

February: Girls Who Travel

Sticking with the travel theme (after all, that’s probably what brought you to this blog in the first place), this month we’re reading the novel “Girls Who Travel”. I know they say not to judge a book by its cover, but just how could I not pick this book up with that title + cover combo!? It looks and sounds like me (and probably you) all over, so I’m really excited for this month’s selection!

As always, if you have any suggestions for future book club books then please do leave a comment below! We’ll come back together at the end of the month to discuss the book – keep an eye out for my review + questions for discussion!

I read this in two flights between Rockhampton and Hobart on my Christmas holidays. While it really wasn’t 100% what I was expecting I still loved it! Fed the romantic and the traveler inside me.

I got this book from the library and read it in one night – excellent choice! I loved it!

Another recommendation – No baggage: A tale of love and wandering by Clara Benson. The story of an introvert who meets a guy online, then takes off to Turkey on a trip with him with no luggage.

I picked this book up in the bookstore last month because of the title and cover. Then a couple days later found out it was going to be the Feb book to read! Can’t wait to get stuck into it. Think I can relate to it a lot.

Great idea to start a book club! I travel a lot, and I’m always looking for something to read on the plane or train.

I started reading this book a few weeks ago myself! I love it so far – so witty and relatable. Very charming book, great choice!

This is such an amazing website! I love the idea of traveling and discovering great places of the world but I’m not old enough to travel on my own. I see all the posts you make and I just hope this will be my life at some point. I have also wanted to read more so it will be great to be part of the club. the book is really eye catching so I’m looking forward to it!

Just downloaded the book! Can suggestions be country-specific or would you prefer selections just based on general traveling? 🙂

Brooke, look into “The Shadow of the Sun” by Ryszard Kapuściński, which is a memoir of his years in Africa. It’s beautifully written and I rarely read such engaging travel stories. Please give it a try this year! Btw, I’m loving the book club! Can’t wait to see your picks over the next months! xx V

Yes! Loved this book! It’s easy to read and I really enjoyed the way she told her story. xo

I got this book for Christmas and loved it! It was a bit cheesy but I don’t mind a bit of that. I’m currently reading Educating Alice which is a collection of travel memoires from the author. She’s a fair bit older (I think she was in her 60s when she wrote the book) but it’s so well written and I just love her ideas on life she shares.
