The Viceroy Miami displays the true essence of modern day Miami – stylish but sophisticated, fun, fabulous, and uber chic. It has a lot of personality, arguably the best pool view in Miami, and tasteful interior decor unlike any other property you will find in the city. Read on for the full review…
The Viceroy Miami Hotel Review
After spending a few days in the popular tourist spot of South Beach, I was already ready for a true ‘getaway’ down in downtown Miami at the Viceroy. With just two nights at this property, a favourite for international travellers, I planned to spend most of my time here at the hotel and didn’t venture far beyond the streets of downtown during my stay. With so much to enjoy at the hotel itself, this turned out to be a very relaxing few days.
The interior decor in Viceroy Suites are so well put together that you will invariably leave with a head full of ideas to recreate a similar space in your own home. They’re fun and fabulous, but also very warm and welcoming to ensure you feel as though you are in your own space, not just another overly decorative hotel room.
I was also pleased to see the ipod dock at my bedside table, a large study desk, and my suite was even fitted with cooking facilities. But I couldn’t go past the balcony on my 14th floor suite without taking in the view each day, as it was true bliss at this end of the city, overlooking Brickell Key.
The room was also incredibly spacious and I couldn’t help but to fall head over heels in love with the bathroom – a huge open space with a large bathtub to top it all off.
When I finally worked up the courage to leave my suite (yes, I really felt that at home), I made my way to the 15th floor to check out the swimming pool – which I had already been informed by a local was ‘the best hotel pool in Miami’.
As soon as I arrived at the pool, I could see why. The view was spectacular – overlooking Miami from 15 floors high inside the hotel swimming pool was a true highlight and I was unsurprised to see there were guests here around the clock.
There was also a fitness studio however it was a little difficult to access, as you would have to pass by the swimming pool into an external building from the hotel rooms – but not really a hassle if you truly wanted to workout (I’m fairly certain I was making excuses for myself).
Additionally, there was a life-size chess set which would have been a fun feature if I wasn’t travelling solo – perhaps next time!
The location is another clear highlight, conveniently located on Brickell Ave – just a few blocks away from dining options, a supermarket, and a pharmacy is very close by.
Book this hotel if…
I would solely recommend you stay at The Viceroy for the interior design alone – it is truly something else. However this is a great choice for a number of reasons – the pool is a clear highlight, the location will take you away from tourist-heavy South Beach, and the staff will ensure you enjoy your stay and then some. This is clearly one of the premier properties on offer in Miami and a WOW favourite!

World of Wanderlust was welcomed to this hotel as a guest, however my opinion is as always, my own.
