Travelling on so many long haul flights has led to a few tricks of the trade quite literally saving my skin! Here are some of my favourite in-flight travel beauty tips to ensure you arrive in your destination feeling well rested, hydrated, and ready to hit the ground running!

In-Flight Beauty Tips

1.Β Tie your hair away from your face to prevent dust and grime causing your skin to break out.

2. Dry shampoo is your new best friend! Use a little to give your hair some shape just before you land.

3. Before you board place a little leave-in conditioner through your hair, particularly on the ends.

4. Carry a hair brush or comb with you and use before landing to feel clean and fresh.

5. Before you go, give yourself some colour by using a light tanner – preferably a cream that builds a gradual tan. This will ensure you look good even when you don’t feel great when getting off the plane!

6.Β Cucumber eye pads are a great way to combat puffy eyes.

7. If you don’t like travelling without makeup, pack some makeup wipes and just be sure to clean your face before you sleep to prevent breakouts.

8. If you can stick to the bare necessities, just pack a concealer and mascara – a girls’ best friends!

9. If your hair gets oily on long haul flights, consider packing a baseball cap to throw on before you land.

10. Avoid using the water in the lavatory to splash your face – it is incredibly dirty!

11. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

12. Rest up but also be sure to get up and move about the cabin a few times throughout the flight to ensure you keep the blood flowing.

I’d never thought of taking cucumber on the plane with me but actually, now you’ve mentioned it, it would be ideal! My eyes are always so dry by the time I leave a plane, especially if it’s a long flight!

I often take a face mask onto the plane to use – one of those ‘papery’ ones, with the cream on it. Helps my skin not go mental πŸ™‚

Good post! I particularly like #3. I hadn’t thought of that one before, and my hair always gets so dry on the plane. I’ll definitely do that next time πŸ™‚

These are all such great tips. I had no clue that the water in the lavatory is dirty! I’ve heard of people bringing a spritzer/facial refreshing spray to use after a flight as well. πŸ™‚ I always like to bring oil absorbing sheets too.

You forgot to mention “Do not forget to bring your toothbrush and some toothpaste”! πŸ™‚ brushing your teeth is the most refreshing thing during a flight, especially if it is a long one!

I also always bring a small beauty spray, like Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir, which I also find incredibly refreshing. Face wipes are essential to clean your face, since it always tends to get oily during a flight!

Also no.10 is a great tip! I never actually thought about that…

Good tips! I’m so bad at drinking water on the plane, I tend to drink lots of sugary juice which I know isn’t very good for you! I’ll have to work on that one πŸ™‚

I love all of these tips. I can’t bear to have my hair in my face but ponytails usually get uncomfortable when leaning against the head rest so I do my hair in braids. Then its done for the whole flight and I don’t have to worry about it looking to greasy or anything either. Loving you’re blog! xo Alice
