Las Vegas is home to many shows, but it is notoriously the stomping ground for Cirque du Soleil. While many of the Cirque shows tour the globe, the best chance to view a show is in Las Vegas itself. While the most popular show is undeniably “O”, the resident water-themed show inside the Bellagio, there are a range of other great resident Cirque shows in other casinos on the strip.
Last year I nabbed some last minute tickets to Zarkana, a darker-themed mysterious Cirque show that is still running today. This year, I was eager to get my hands on tickets to see the popular “The Beatles LOVE” show, which has been running since 2006. It is the artistic world’s biggest tribute to the Beatles and an absolute must see for fans of the band and music. Here’s a quick run down of what you can expect:
The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil Show Review
Like any Cirque show, it starts off with intrigue. A solo performer entertaining the crowd in the lead-up to the opening act where things take off with a bang. From there, the audience plays witness to a spectacular display of artistry – with oodles of colour, bright (and crazy) costumes, and more personality than a reality TV show.
But the most recognisable part of the show: the music.
For Beatles fans, this show is a must see. The way the creators have managed to not only incorporate but to drive the show through some of the Beatles’ biggest hits is mesmerising. Indeed, the visuals are fantastic. But they’re complimentary. All in all, this is a tribute to the world’s most successful pop band: The Beatles.
The songs overlap one another, each one cleverly leading into the next. The artists perform fantastically, with acts and costumes to compliment the Beatles LOVE story line.
There’s no criticism to be had for a show that has so eloquently captured the essence of Beatles Mania in the UK circa 1960’s.
