Cremorne Point Manor

Some of the best views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House are reserved for residents of the northern shores of Sydney, which is exactly where I’ve found myself for my first night in Australia’s cultural hub – Sydney.

From Circular Quay, its just a shore 8 minute ferry ride to arrive at Cremorne Point, and from there just a short stroll up to the Cremorne Point Manor, a boutique luxury guesthouse on Sydney’s northern shores. This four star hotel has been widely praised for offering tourists a comfortable and relaxing alternative to the fast-pace city life. However guests to Cremorne Point Manor can have the best of both worlds, with the short commute by ferry to Sydney’s centre.

Once I had arrived at the Manor from the Sydney airport, I was swiftly checked-in by the front office staff and shown to my room for the evening – the King Spa Suite – a spacious and luxurious retreat with a bonus round jacuzzi and bottle of bubbly! The humble appeal of this 4 star property was a welcomed delight, as it can often be hard to find in larger hotels. Reception staff were more than happy to accommodate an early check-in, late check-out, and provide assistance with directions and ferry timetables.

Although I had arrived with the intention to return to Circular Quay for the evening, I surprised myself by enjoying the authenticity of staying in Cremorne Point for the evening and enjoying views of the Sydney Harbour from what felt like a world away in Cremorne Point.

After a relaxing night enjoying the suburban lifestyle, I made my way to the breakfast room to enjoy a continental breakfast (included in the room rate). Now that I was refuelled for the day, it was time to head off and do some sightseeing around Sydney.

A complimentary bottle of bubbles for spa suite guests

PROS: A comfortable choice for travellers who cherish comfort over opulence.

CONS: As a smaller hotel, the traditional ammenities found in luxury properties such as an in-house gym and indoor swimming pool are not present. However guests can enjoy complimentary use of a nearby public pool and the nearby reserve is perfect for an afternoon of outdoor exercise.

TIP: If you miss out on a room with a view, fear not! The Manor has an expansive guest balcony on the first floor.
