How to Make your Skin Glow

As I am so often questioned on my skincare regime, I thought I would put together a list of all the products I have tried and those I use daily, to answer how to make your skin glow. While most of these products are directly related to cleaning and nourishing your skin, one product that might surprise you is a nude toned lipstick, that I swear is the secret to looking polished and fresh faced if you were to pick just one make-up item. Often overlooked, lips need constant nourishment as well as your entire face, so combined with these killer skincare products you will be guaranteed a fresh face when you step off a long haul flight or hit the ground running at your new destination!

Whilst all of these products have guaranteed me exceptional results, be mindful that results vary depending on your own skin and what works for one might not work for all. It is also worth noting that I do not use all of these products at once – each product has its purpose and is best used as you feel your skin requires it.

1. Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment

This product is a top seller on Net-a-Porter and for good reason. The Good Genes treatment by Sunday Riley promises to do just as the name suggests – a serum that leaves your skin flawless after daily use, giving the effect of “good genes” – we can’t all be born a Gigi or a Kendall! Essentially this product firms your skin and balances your skin tone – a great overall treatment to give you a better complexion.

2. Charlotte Tilbury Mini Miracle Eye Wand

As a huge fan of Charlotte Tilbury products, this mini miracle eye wand is one of my all time favourites from her. The eye wand completely banishes dark circles, which often becomes a problem when you travel on long haul flights or if you travel for business. Just be sure to select your colour before you pop it into your basket as there are different colours for different skin tones.

3. Charlotte Tilbury Bronze & Glow

Another favourite product from the CT line is this bronze and glow illuminator. I’ve been using illuminators for a couple of years now and this has by far been one of my favourites. This product is essentially a magic trick in a small boxed palette – giving the optical illusion of sharper cheek bones for the bronzer and an overall face lift with illuminator just underneath the outer edges of your eyes, a little down your nose and above your lip.

4. Super Elixr

Super elixr is about as close as you can get to true scientific reasoning behind a product, to allow you to believe in its’ prospects. Super Elixr is a powdery substance full of greens, goodness and even chinese herbs, designed to keep your alkaline levels at the desired level. I find this product helps with digestion as I struggle with a few food intolerances, so it is great when you travel and wish to re-nourish your body.

5. Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick (Hepburn Honey)

Back to an old favourite, this lipstick is a gorgeous nude tone with a bit of depth, to leave the rest of your skin looking fresh faced and glowing. Nourishing your lips is just as important as the rest of your skin, so I always keep a chapstick handy to apply before lipstick and keep my lips in good shape.

6. Tatcha Luminous Deep Hydrating Serum

I have been using the Japanese beauty range Tatcha for over three years now and swear by some of their products, but none more so than the deep hydrating serum. Apply it in the evening before bed and you will instantly feel the firming effects which only continue to get better over time!

7. Eve Lom Cleanser with Muslin Cloths

My go-to cleanser was first introduced to me only a year or two ago, but since investing in Eve Lom I have never looked back. This is a great daily cleanser that has helped me keep my skin clean, which can become quite a task when I travel so frequently! I use this cleanser balm in the mornings and evenings with a muslin cloth to steam my face. I find this is also a great ritual at the beginning of the day!

8. Charlotte’s Magic Cream

My grandmother once told me that it is never too soon to start fighting signs of ageing, encouraging me to invest in this little pot of magic cream that quite literally freezes time. Think of this product as an intensive moisturiser that gives life back into your skin – particularly good to use during and after a holiday in the sun when your skin often feels drained.

Missed these posts! Brooke I’ve been using the Revlon pink illuminator since you recommended it AGES ago I’ve had it for so long and STILL haven’t used it anymore even though I use it daily! It’s a travel lifesaver. 🙂

I like CT products, I’ve worn her eyeshadow for couple of years now and always get compliments. Also her lipstick is great. I have found though that sometimes simple things like oils also work wonders on moisturising.

Auch, those are way too expensive for my wallet! Don’t you use drugstore products?
Tests always say the more expensive products aren’t the best ones at all. Just curious about your thoughts on these…

      Hi Joelle,

I certainly didn’t go out and buy them all at once! Beauty is something I’m personally happy to invest in as I feel my best when my skin is glowing – so these are the products I have had the best results with! Some of them I’ve had for years though – they’re expensive but they last 🙂 x

I have pale skin too so I know your feels! The CT eye shadows are really good colour palettes for pale skin – bronze/gold tones are my fave 🙂

I was wondering if you had any tips on drugstore products for travel usage 🙂 A lot of the products you talk about are out of my price range… haha

Hi Stefanie! I use mostly drug store products for make-up (Revlon colour stay foundation, maybelline mascara), but for skincare I really like to invest in products that I see the most results with! Natio are a great range of skincare products for a lower price point – I often use their daily moisturiser when I’m at home / not needing the extra essential oils from all the travel! x

Great tips Brooke! I think I’ll have to give the muslin cleansing cloths a go. You should also try Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. It is amazing and worth the price tag!
