If there’s one thing you should make sure you get the chance to do in Cape Town, its a Cape Town sunset cruise. It took me no less than four visits to realise this, so I’m telling you now before you make my same mistake. There are a number of companies offering sunset cruises – from your regular ol’ boat to none other than a pirate ship!?

The cruises all cost around the $30 mark and some even offer a complimentary glass of champagne for the journey. Tours kick off around 7pm or half an hour before sunset depending on the time of year. Most visitors who come to Cape Town have a sunset boat cruise on their list of things to do… so to avoid disappointment, be sure to book in advance!

If my words don’t convince you, maybe these photos will……

Departs: varies year-round, though usually around 7pm.

Price: 300 rand / $30

Time: approx. 90 minutes in length

How to book? There are a number of companies offering the cruise. I booked mine through the Table Bay Hotel concierge, which I believe was through this company.

Be sure to combine a Cape Town cruise with these other 10 best things to do in Cape Town.

Lived there for 22 years and only did it twice but now every time I visit, usually once a year. It is amazing and looks like you had a great day for it. Not recommended in windy weather:)
