I’ve been asked a few times recently who inspires me – and while it is often tempting to look at this question in a broader spectrum and choose my top inspirations from a historical standpoint, I’ve decided to be realistic and reveal some of the top bloggers who inspire me at the moment.

As I travel full time I rarely get the chance to read many blogs, so I’ve restricted myself to a “top 5 people who inspire me” list. I also think this is a good time to mention that the best way to keep up to date with your favourite blogs is on Bloglovin’ – my lifesaver due to my busy schedule!

So here’s who is inspiring me right at this minute! (Please feel free to link your own blog in the comments section below and I will check them all out for the next ‘who inspires me’ post!!).

I source inspiration from places, people, things, feelings and experiences.

Bloggers who Inspire a Travel Blogger

Sjana Earp

Sjana from SMYLE

Sjana is one of the exceptional human beings that is just as beautiful on the inside as she is from the outside. This self-taught yogi and all-round lover of life is bound to make you wear a smile as big as hers when you start following along her journey. I follow Sjana’s instagram and keep up with her escapades daily – not only does she inspire me in a meaningful sense but she also inspires me to get outside and get active! I’m always envious of her flexi long legs extending from one side of an instagram frame through to the other – but that envy soon turns into admiration and adoration, because Sjana is one of the loveliest humans you will find showcasing her life on the internet.

Sound of Chic by Jess

Jess is one of my travel-related inspirations and I love finding gems like her on the interwebs as a source of inspiration for future trips and destinations. Just take one look at her homepage on Sound of Chic and you will instantly feel inspired, too. I can’t wait to see where her journey takes her next – make sure you’re following along too – this is one to watch! She runs not one but two successful travel websites, and

Essena by Essena O’neil

For a 17 year old, Essena has wisdom and sensibility beyond her years. I’ve been following Essena for a while now and still find myself pondering around her website as an endless source of inspiration for everything mind, body, and soul related. She has even (almost) convinced me to go back to veganism! I’m just more likely to commit when I settle in the one city for longer than a few days! Essena is exactly what is needed in the social media digital age – a source of encouragement for young girls around the world. I’m pretty sure she’s the teenager every parent wants to have and every teenager wants to be like!

Mister Weekender

Jaharn has been one of my favourite bloggers from the very beginning. Raw, unique, and an incredibly beautiful soul – I absolutely love following her escapades around the world. Recently she has been showing off New Zealand and more of Australia, making me miss home even more! This is one of my favourite travel blogs that takes up a little more of my time as her posts are incredibly well written, so once you start reading – you can’t stop! Definitely take a look and I’m sure you will feel the same.

emma bates

My London Lifestyle

Last but by all means nowhere near least, Emma Bates is my best blogger friend from the internet world. I don’t meet too many people through blogging as I’m so busy this year – but I did meet Emma in Paris earlier this year and we instantly clicked. What do I love about her blog? She EATS. A girl who eats and looks as damn good as her is definitely reason enough to follow her journey. Emma has the ultimate lifestyle/living thing down, she eats healthy, exercises, works hard to play hard, travels often, ahhh…. yep, I’m immensly inspired by Emma.

Thanks for sharing! I love bloglovin for following blogs too, but I wish it was a bit more interactive. There used to be a site called Hellocotton (the French version still exists) and it had much more of a community feeling. Well, anyway, thanks for sharing your favourites (and also to all the people sharing theirs in the comments! Wow, there are a lot of travel bloggers out there eh?

I didn’t know any of those, so thanks for the recommendations.

I have a travel blog myself, but not the kind you would expect: I specialize in travel pictures with cats.

I accept submissions from readers too, so if anyone has some cool photos that may fit the blog, I’d be happy to publish them along with your blog url 😉

Such a great list of wonderful bloggers! All of you have given me a serious case of wanderlust (especially when it comes to those posts on Eastern Europe)!

If you want to check out my blog, I’m working on starting it up to maybe take it to the next level (a real website, etc). Right now it mostly has information on Argentina, Brazil, and the USA!

I just love how big the travel blog community is! It gets me excited to know that there are so many people with such shared values around travel, and incredibly diverse and beautiful ways to express it!

My wife and I, after friend after friend asking “why don’t you start a travel blog?” finally did. We’re new to it (I think a few people beyond just our mothers are now reading it though!), and just having fun mixing in tips and what we hope are thought provoking stories for other millennials, particularly couples that have the travel bug.

Keep up the great work here, we love it! And since we’ll be traveling to Hong Kong and South Africa, we’ve really loved it as of late!

    Some great blogs!

I’m inspired by all sorts of different types of bloggers. But mostly, I’m inspired by things that surround me. I really have to get out and explore to stumble upon my best ideas.

I’m always struggling with where I ‘fit’ as a blog. I’m not a true travel blogger, and definitely not a ‘mommy blogger’. I guess lifestyle is the best bucket for me. I just try to focus on the positives in life.

    All the best,V

Any tips would be great! Danielle xx

I’ve always wondered who you follow on the blogosphere and Instagram, so this was a welcome read! Thanks for sharing.

It’s funny how small the blog community is because I know of 4/5 of these from stumbling upon their blogs and Instagram feeds too. And when you think about it, all are just normal people who walk down the street without the majority of people knowing how positively influential they are.
