Brooke Saward in London

A very warm welcome to World of Wanderlust! My name is Brooke Saward, a 24 year old with restless feet and a desire to see the whole world, one country at a time! I created this space on the internet as a hub for people like me who want to be inspired daily to travel and live a more adventurous life everyday. On this blog I share travel tips, lifestyle tips & motivation, DIY projects, recipes and a little from my life back at home.

On the day I graduated university, I booked a one-way ticket to London and have hardly stopped travelling since! Since then I have written an Ebook about taking A Year to Myself and will this year release my very first ever published book. I have also released a World of Wanderlust app, been featured in a number of magazines and grown my team to 5 contributors based in different cities around the world.

How I Came into Blogging

If you want to know more about how I went from a university degree to blogging full time, read on!

I’ve always been encouraged by my parents to “do what you love” because at the end of the day, our happiness is our most precious possession! When I finished my University studies I knew I didn’t want to be stuck behind a desk all day [I’m a little too curious for that], so I booked a ticket to London to travel and hopefully find answers.

I had already started my blog a year before, but had only really been blogging as a hobby and received the occasional invite from a hotel to write about them on my blog if I wished to stay there.

I was overseas solo for about 6 months before I really turned World of Wanderlust into a business. Before then I was spending more money than I was making, and blogging was just a fun way for me to share my travels. I saw plenty of other bloggers turning their blog into a business (especially fashion + DIY blogs), so I figured I’d give it a try and start blogging more seriously.

It has been one crazy ride to get to where I am now – plenty of sleepless nights, spending every spare second of every day blogging, photographing, editing, taking videos, responding to emails, consulting with brands… But i love it so much!

If you feel inspired by WoW to travel more, start your own blog, try something new or take up a new hobby, then my job is done! I hope these pages are a source of endless inspiration and motivation that we can all live the life we dream of… when dreams become doing!

You can read the full World of Wanderlust Story here.

To my readers (especially those who tweet and comment daily – y’all know who you are!), this blog wouldn’t be nearly what it is today without you. I hope to meet so many more of you this year and to my New Yorkers, all 80 odd of you who came to say hello, you still hold the record for the funnest meet up ever!

Love, B. xo
