colmar france

1. Colmar, France

Located in France, Colmar is one of the most picturesque French villages you will ever lay eyes on. Luckily, it’s still relatively undiscovered…. so be sure to plan a visit before too long because this is one of the most fairytale travel destinations you must visit.

Cesky Krumlov

2. Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic

Lying a couple hours drive south of Prague is the fairytale town of Cesky Krumlov. This town is a popular day trip from Prague, particularly in summer, so be sure to sneak in a visit off-season and enjoy the town almost all to yourself.

Hallstatt in winter

3.Hallstatt, Austria

The quaint and charming town of Hallstatt, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has been dubbed the prettiest lakeside town in the world… and it’s not hard to see why!

mostar bosnia

4. Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina

If a picture tells a thousand words…. Bosnia and Herzegovina would have to be one of the most underrated countries in the entire world.

solo travel

5. Nyhaven, Copenhagen, Denmark

Colourful seaside apartments and cosy outdoor fires = Copenhagen. Expensive but extraordinary, Copenhagen is unlike any other.

experiences not things

6. Amsterdam, Netherlands

Whilst it is far too overpopulated with tourists to truly pass as a fairytale destination, a visit to Amsterdam once in your life is an absolute must.

hoi An

7. Hoi An, Vietnam

Hoi An is Asia’s version of Paris… magical, mystical, and unforgettable.

8. Greenland

This remote oasis is unspoiled, untouched, and severely underrated. Greenland is a bucketlist destination most of us can only dream about one day visiting… but dreaming is also worthwhile!

I live a half hour away from Amsterdam, but it’s more iconic than fairytale in my opinion. But i agree youve to visit Amsterdam once in your lifetime and make time to see the real Amsterdam and not look at all the tourists that come there the whole year round! Look at the harbor and the oldest zoo wich’s very beautifull. Or go to the fleamarkets to shop cheap, there are so many beautifull things! Just take the time and a good guide!

I am from Colmar and actually I didn’t recognized my city when looking at the picture ! The colour of the houses isn’t so bright in reality. But still, Colmar is a beautiful city and if you come to see it don’t miss “La petite venise” which is the most beautiful and the most famous place in Colmar.
And also, I do think there are already a lot of tourists visiting the city. But thank you for putting it in your first place of cities you want to visit !

Nice to see ČeskΓ½ Krumlov on your list πŸ™‚ I’m from the Czech Republic (Prague) but I’ve never been there. I should put it on my to-visit list. And Colmar as well – it looks like from fairytale!
